The cottage has electricity and is fully equipped for self-catering and comfortably appointed for two people.

For cooking, we have installed a two-plate gas burner and hot water is provided by an electric geyser.

The bathroom has a basin, shower with hot and cold running water and a flushing toilet connected to a septic tank. Linen, Towels and soap are provided.

During the winter months or cool summer nights you may enjoy a touch of yesteryear. Curl up to the "Welcome Dover"' stove that burns with coal and wood and heats up the cottage in no time at all. The stove is, of course, ideal for cooking too.

Cool down under our cold water bush shower on those balmy summer days and nights.
Its big enough for two!

Enjoy a "braai" and tranquil sunset or gaze out over the pond that is visible from the cottage.

The pond attracts small buck and numerous bird species that may be viewed in comfort from the verandah.

The cottage is in the transition region between broad-leaved woodland and Highveld grasslands. Habitation in the vicinity includes "koppies", rocky slopes, gorges, rivers, dams, wetlands and farm lands. From the cottage there is easy access to the Moloto, Rust De Winter, Wilge River and Verena areas.

Special bird species for our area include Tinkling Cisticola, Lazy Cisticola, Shelley's Francolin, Orange River Francolin, Garden Warbler, African Finfoot, Corncrake, Brown Honeyguide, Striped Pipit, March and Grass Owls and many more.

Bee Tree Farm is ideal for the bird viewer’s community; we were listed in the CHAIMERLAIN guide to BIRDING GAUTENG, 101 PRIME BIRDING SITES IN AND AROUND JOHANNESBURG AND PRETORIA, written by Etienne Marais and Faansie Peacock. We aim to provide affordable eco-sensitive accommodation to nature lovers wishing to escape the stress of city life.

Accommodation:
For the exclusive use of the Entire Kraal sleeping 10 people,
Includes Two Cabins PPS (sleeps two each)
One Dorm (Sleeps 6)
One Camp Site. You need to supply your OWN tent. Picture only as sample. We don't supply the Tent. No electricity at the camp site.

This Kraal is ideal for groups/clubs, reunions, workshops, courses etc.

Family ‘team building’: when last did you spend time with your children, without influence of electronic equipment, played ball games, ample space in the Kraal, build kites, teach the young ones about stars, birds, share your own childhood stories, listen what goes on in their lives, I showed my grandson a ‘live chameleon’ and he was awed ‘it this ‘real’??

Bring your bicycles and explore the area, lot’s of game to be sighted on joining Farms.


Walk around on the 23 hectare Farm (Cottage excluded, privacy of the couple only), look for bird species, see a ‘toktokkie’ the many grass species on the Farm and come back relaxed and energized for the week. The Protea Kaffra is in full bloom, in abundance, growing on Bee Tree Farm.


Catering can be arranged on request.

The Lapa (Kraal):
Features a large 12 seater table, large fireplace, whilst the kitchen is equipped with a fridge, basin, crockery, cutlery, pots and pans for 12 people.

The 2 Ablutions Facilities:
Each ablution facility is provided with a hot shower, toilet and basin.

Electricity is available to the Kraal, ablution facilities, dormitory, lapa and cabins.

Prices do not include linen for "Kraal" but a quote can be requested via e-mail per person.

We are situated in the De Tweedespruit Conservancy with its abundant bird and wildlife and therefore we regret no pets allowed or any music or other disturbances.
